The mixes have been flying in lately, (and just as i post this DJ Halfdutch hits me up with her latest installment so check back next week for that). This time round the block Corks Stevie G hits the wheelz of steel to drop an hour and 20 mins of some highlight from his music collection that he’s been putting together for a long, long time now. I’d also like to take this time to congratulate Stevie and the miss’s on their newest addition to the family, hope all is well!
“This mix is part of RedFM’s Collections series which goes out every Friday night at 11PM and finds various Cork DJ’s playing tunes from their favourite artists. It was an impossible task cutting it down but I put together a hip-hop styled mix that used elements from the jazz, reggae, soul, funk, hip-hop and rock stuff that I was mainly influenced by over the years; obviously, it’s only a snapshot as time was of the essence but it flows relatively well and should work for chilled out listening. There are a million disco, house, latin and indeed hip-hop and soul things that I could have put in but the mix is the best way I could sum up my musical taste in one sitting and I hope you enjoy it. I dedicate this selection to my first baby Lola who was born the day after it was first broadcast, she was on my mind as I put this together and I know she is gonna dig the tunes!” – Stevie G
