Ladies and gentlemen i’m pleased to present the 2nd installment from Chop Shop favourite, Dublins own Fruitman. His first mix, a laid back collection of hip hop and soul combined perfectly, went down very well indeed. This time round things aren’t as laid back but the selection is on point once again, and dude is kinda nice on the old 1 & 2’s. If ur a fan of Fruitmans mix why not check out his blog for some more tasty sets from the man of the hour.

DJ Goldy Presents the Chop Shop Vol.17

May 4th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Podcasts and written by Jay Ru

Alright ladies and germs as u can see we’ve shaken things up round these parts over the past week or so. Big thanks to Cormac for all his hard work behind the scenes.

So since we’re kinda relaunching the site with this episodes of the podcast we decided to give u something special, what we have for u folks is a 3 hour music fest from Chop Shop first timer DJ Goldy outta Dublin. “A lot of Djs boast about size. Others boast about quality. It’s rare to find a mixture of both. Goldy would put us all to shame. I’ve been to his home and mothers house, it’s difficult to explain how many records there were. But when you hear him play you’ll understand. Chris has supported everyone from Cash Money & Andy Smith to Daddy G and Morcheeba. His sets really are something special. Goldy is also half of the electronic duo Ufeari. Expect a new album from Ufeari on Psychonavigation Records towards the end of the year ” As hard as I tried I couldn’t describe this in words or do it justice so I asked the man himself to speak on his musical collage.

EH A MIX IN THE VEIN OF STENSKI MEETS JAH SHAKA IN AN ECHO CHAMBER HAVING A SPLIFF WITH TOM WAITS WHILST MULLING OVER “IS HEAVYMETAL COOL?” ………MEANWHILE THE “YA JUST BEEN SILLY CROWD” ASKED WHAT MUPPET ALLOWED HIM ON THE DECKS.THE DOCTOR IN CHARGE OF CHECKING DENTURES REPORTED IT WAS CREATED ON TWO TURNTABLES AND THEN SOMETHING HAPPENED WHEN IT WAS BEEN TRANSPORTED TO HOTH SOMEHOW THE TAPE JUST GOT MANGLED.
RUMORED TO BE SUB TITLED THE “GRAB A GRAND” MIX IF YA CAN NAME ALL THE TRACKS, HILARY CLINTON SAID “I’M A PUPPET”.
IN TRUTH NO THOUGHT WHATSOEVER WENT INTO IT,ALL TRACKS FEATURED JUST HAPPENED TO BE AT HAND WHEN I WAS ASKED TO DO IT…….THE SKITS,INTERLUDES AND DUBS ARE JUST BASED ON WHAT I WAS WATCHING OR THINKING LAST WEEK.

“ALL GREAT MIXTAPES HAVE TO END WITH A TOM WAITS SONG” – SOME FRUITY F*CKER ON YOUTUBE BUT HE HAS A POINT.
