DJ Mayhem presents The Chop Shop Podcast Vol.24
We’ve set the bar pretty high for our first mix of ‘09, Dj Mayhem came to recognition as co-host of The Next Level Hip Hop Show on Jazz fm in Dublin. He then entered the 1999 Irish DMC where he placed second in what was his First Live performance. Many more competitions followed, and in total Dj Mayhem placed Runner up in 4 DMC’s, 1 ITF and 1 DTF. He then represented Ireland at the 2002 & 2003 Battle for World Supremacy Finals in the Brixton Academy London.
Aswell as Battling others Dj’s, Mayhem would also make regular apperences in Eamonn Dorans, The Kitchen , Capital Bar, The Village, Music Center, Crawdaddy, The Pod, Rira and other venues across Ireland spinning HipHop, Soul, Jazz and Funk all mixed together with a splash of Turntablism.
During this time Mayhem got together with Messiah j and The Expert to form Creative Control and in 2001 they released their debut single “Bloodrush” followed by “Check the Vision” on Volta Records. Both Singles would later feature on Messiah j and the Experts Debut album “Whats confusing you” in 2003.

By 2005 Dj Mayhem retired from the battle scene and took a look back at Hip Hop’s influences and created the Memorylane Mix cd. An incredible DJ workout showcasing Classic Hip Hop and the Original music that inspired it from Funk through to Jazz and a few stops inbetween.
After his perceived hiatus from the game Dj Mayhem returned to the public eye in 2007/08 to showcase even greater skills on the turntables than before with club sets in Rira, The Twisted Pepper and support slots for Immortal Technique & J-live
